Son's 'Purchase' at Granpas Tractor Auction...
Had a few items that went pre-auction at my Grandfather-in-laws auction. He let this little gem go for a hug!
Our Son has a passion for 'stacks'. He always judges a truck on the type of stack it has. I don't know why or understand it but the kid loves mufflers! Check out the real gems - some are beat but others are pretty nice... Edgar 'Slugger' & Arlen Meseck Auction[img]

Sounds like you're starting your kid out right!
I would expect that crossmotor Case to bring the most, but you never know. That Farmall AV isn't old or all that rare, but guys will pay a bunch for them for some reason. Whydoncha buy your son a project? Something to keep him busy for the next 10 years.

Thats what the Targa is for! Plus he could most likely claim anyone of them if he really wanted - thank God he doesn't know that!
FWIW I think the IH Hi Crops will go for the most but I do like that 60yr old Case!

Thanks for the photoshop contrast adjustment! You guys rock.
He will miss three days of school for the auction and harvest. Time well spent IMO. What he will remember and learn in those three days couldn't be taught in 3 months worth of school.

I didn't see that Avery 25-50 at first glance. Granpa should be able to buy a couple of nice, original, low mileage Carreras from the proceeds of that sale. Add up the crossmotor Case, the Avery, and those Farmall Vs and he's talking a new GT3.

I dig stacks on trucks, if unique and done "right" and do find myself checking out mufflers on all vehicles.
Yes, I critique the placement, direction of mounting, and the outlet. My brother and I frequently comment to each other about a particular nice/odd exhaust setup we saw.

Well, from what I can tell the auction was a success - the highest fetch was $45,000 for the steam powered Avery. I think he thought it would go for more. All tractors sold - most for over 4 large from what I can tell.
Our Son got the following for $29! He had fun bidding. Three stacks, a few tool boxes and a gearbox and shift. I have no clue what he is going to do with these. I know he won't be flying back with it! (if you can adjust the contrast, go for it! I can't on my laptop.)
