Looking for source for 3M mounting tape/pads
 

I'm trying to find a source for some 3M mounting tape,,,the kind typically used for automotive cell phone mounts. Not the foam tape but the dense gray super strong adhesive that typically comes pre-attached to mounts with a red peel and stick covering safe for weather safe for external use. It was used by Circuit City installers on a sat radio mount and came pre-attached to my back up camera mount. I am reinstalling the back up camera on another vehicle.

I googled yesterday and came up empty

Just Googled some more. What I'm looking for is a small qty of 3M Automotive Acrylic Attachment Tape.....pricy stuff in a full roll

The stuff made for body mouldings is grey and very similar, albeit not as wide... Just buy a roll and make multiple passes?

I'd offer you a few pieces of the stuff we use in the sign shop... But it would take the dash with it if you ever wanted to remove it... :D

That's about right, if it's labeled as such..

The 3M "snot", aka yellow trim adhesive is junk over a certain temperature.
After taking out the windows, doing a full complete headiner replacement, reinstalling.... the whole came crashing down after the f'n transport company "lost" the car for a couple of weeks in the desert.

Should be available at any FLAPS.... I know the local oriellys carries it... And they pretty much suck.

Google 3M "VHB" tape (very high bond).
