High school football time again :-)
I love high school football and I'm going to the season opener tonight of my favorite team, Orange Lutheran.

BIG game against rival last night. My nephew is #2 for Wayzata. These 3 plays all took place with about 25 seconds left in the game. What a unreal finish. Proud uncle here!

Our local highschool team just won their 26th straight "regular season" game last night. Prior to the last lost in '07, they had a 24 game win streak going. They have won their league title 9 years in a row and won the state title in their division in '05.
My daughters have graduated from the school, but I still find myself attending most games. We are a tiny rural public highschool with a phenomenol coaching staff that makes the most of whatever kids happen to play each year. Ten years ago you could not have paid me to go watch a highschool football game.... now I am hooked.

High school football was a religion where I lived in TX. Our tiny town of 2700 had a team that regularly played in Texas Stadium.

My son's high school (he doesn't play football, runs CC) got waxed again last night.
I just like to go on cool fall Friday nights, enjoy the slice of Americana.
