Acer Tablet
Have a pre production/development unit sitting here. Running Android.
Home level of UI is too similar to a traditional desktop environment for my liking but sub levels are what you'd expect in a tablet/touch device which is good. It's a nice little unit. Snappy. Should do well.

There is going to be a 7 inch version as well.
Have the bigger one here since it's appropriate for our product. If you really want to have fun go grab an embedded dev board. I picked up an ARM chipped board with camera/wifi interfaces and 7 in touchscreen for ~$150. Build your own custom case and toss android on it. Might be a fun cheap project for you.
