Internet TV

I'm getting tired of sending Dish Network $60 a month when we really only watch about 5 or 6 stations. I'm wondering if anyone is using the software for internet TV and if they are happy with it.

Don't know, but Internet TV is coming.

I'm wondering if anyone knows where to look to get stuff live vs. recorded online?

I have some friends that use Hulu exclusively and don't have cable, it's even better if you do it with a Roku, AppleTV, Xbox, etc. vs. fiddling with a PC.

I have a need at the office to see some network TV early next week, and we'd really like to see the east coast feeds vs. the west coast to see stuff earlier, any thoughts on that?

(Not to hijack, but it's sorta relevant :) )

Check and see what is available on Hulu (and the new premium stuff doesn't include the same stuff as the free stuff), netflix, and OTA. Buddy set up a computer w/ gobs of ram, a raid-1'd 1tb set up, 2 dual input hauppage cards, and runs Ubuntu w/ the mythbuntu packages installed. Works great for him.

Want to know more about that setup... With OTA HD signals, that sounds like the perfect setup for network TV. Does it have an integrated online scheduling/recording?
Thanks,
Neil

I currently get the OTA stuff, I have a tuner card that is HD. Its the stuff thats currently on cable that I want. I currently have a computer hooked up to a graphic's grade CRT projector in my home theater room. I also watch the netflex instant viewing through it, but the quality is not that great. A 96" wide screen really needs a good video source. But I could live with less for the news, ect.

Yup - the mythbuntu packages take care of all of that for you

Internet TV is changing everything. Part of the cost of cable is the program cost. If no one is paying for that no new cable programs.
