Loyal Dog Still Waits For Dead Owner

A Texas dog named Spot still waits on a country road for his master to come home, even though he was killed five months ago.

Sort of like in "Shane"

My wife's dog sat by the front door the whole month she was in Texas when her Mom broke her hip. Every single time we went for a walk, he would check her car when we left and when we got home. Had to feed him by the door or he would not eat.

You never saw the Jurassic Bark episode of Futurama? Gold.

Years ago on a bitterly cold morning on the way to work, I passed two dogs by the side of the road. One was snuggled up to the other and both lying down. I drove on for a mile and then decided I should turn around and check on them. Turns out one had been hit and killed the other was just staying there with his buddy. Shortly after (within minutes) a police car pulled up and we placed the surviving dog in the back of the police car. That dog wouldn't take his eyes off his buddy.

Just heartbreaking. Animals, especially dogs can be very loyal.

Great story. I don't see a cat doing this, but then again, I'm a "dog person"!

I like most dogs more than I like most people....

In defense of felines, my two guys come out of the bushes/neighbor's yard/etc to greet me when I come home from work. I don't see them while I'm driving up to the house, but by the time I gather my stuff and get out of the car, they're there. We then walk into the house together.

Like the saying says "If dogs don't go to heaven when they die, then when I die, I want to go where they go."

So you're saying that your cats escort you into the house and then run back to the car for a nap ?

I am definitely a dog person, however an Uncle of mine drove himself to the hospital, he never went home (they found cancer all over). His cat waited for him in the driveway for over two weeks.
