Camera enforced traffic laws
My state started using cameras to enforce speeding laws and running red lights the beginning of the year. The tactic has worked in my opinion but the backlash was been tremendous, op-ed page, talk radio, lunch room diatribes and politico posturing(it's an election year after all). There has never been this much public debate since the Monarchy was overthrown.
Monitors are huddled in this marked van during rush hour and lasering drivers. People have pulled over, opened their car hoods just to obstruct their veiw or some job counseling, kids hang out the windows, double birds (look Ma no hands!). Granted, it's been less than a month but how did your community react? Just curious. No aloha for the camera operators, Neal |
