Christmas gifts for teens.....

I have three teens, female. What is the new trendy thing this year? I don't live with them and communication is not the best.....

Gift cards? They already have iPods and computers....

I would think gift cards would be good so that they could go buy themselves shoes, clothes, handbags, etc.... Keeps my two happy....

yeah, honestly, for teens, cash or cash equivalent (gift cards) is the way to go. Trends can change month to month, week to week and sometimes day to day. Unless there is something that you are certain is in their "want" list, you're probably better off sending them the means to get what they want.

New Year's Resolution to increase quality and quantity of communication with them... is there anything that you could give them that would aid with that? or give yourself? Laptop with GoogleTalk/Skype, etc...

Gift cards are nice but not very thoughtful imo. Some people on the other hand, are annoyed to get something they don't want, feign interest, then search for the gift receipt... and then are annoyed to have to stand in line to return the item...

Find out where they like to shop and get gift cards from those stores. Shows more interest in them personally. Some of the above listed stores are good but not everyone shops A&F (expecially if they aren't a perfect size 0).

Well, in this case, a Gift Card is the best approach. Don't go for a specific one but a Visa or MC one.
