I'm a drummer so the appeal should be obvious but these guys really bring it.

I can't tell if Simon is a lefty playing a right-handed kit or a righty just switching off.

He leads with the left ALOT.

There are some excellent videos of his playing with Toto, The Who, and many others out there.

I always admired him but with the internet it's easy to see why he is considered one of the best in the business.

a little different context - PSP:

I saw Simon Phillips in '80 with Jeff Beck on the There and Back tour. Sick. This song live was insane - he kept that kick drum pattern up for 10 minutes

And for some more oddities, Oz Noy with Will Lee and Keith Carlock. Note that Carlock is reading this piece

Calvin is lefty and plays a right handed kit. It has some advantages (you can sit in at a gig and not have to rearrange the kit) and disadvantages. Carter Beauford is the first guy that comes to mind that plays that way.

I use my left hand for hi-hat work while my right plays the snare but not to the extent that some of these guys do.
Todd-thanks for the vids.

We're with family for the holiday so that was nice break things.

I played left way back when (but well below these guys) thats just great thanks

Is Carter one off the Mathews band? I've seen someone else on youtube playing this tune, I'm new to their music and 'billies' is just brilliant
