Just dropped the wife and baby off....
...at the airport. It's gonna be a long week. As a full time stay at home dad I have not been away from the baby since she was three months old for more than a couple of hours.
I have some projects lined up though. Changing valve cover/intake manifold gaskets on the Land Rover, all filters and catch-up maintenance on the 300D, detailing the SC and Road King, servicing the electrical on the bus. Then I get to help a friend remove the edge of his roof to park his trailer and help him get his race car ready for Willow. I should be O.K. I have cigars and plenty of beer.

Easy, CC, you don't want to tilt any stereotypes about retired military...
 Funny, since I retired I have also made it an an absolute imperative to tend to the time I spend with my children. I just spent two days at VMI with my son for an orientation...an amazing experience. Your baby is in good hands, this week as well, CC.

Paul, I bet you are thrilled to have your son going to VMI! I know Grace is in very capable hands, it's kind of like the first day of your first deployment though, just trying to find the groove.

Kudos for seeing the value in raising your own child yourself! I too have been a full time dad in the past and although challenging at times it is both rewarding and worth the effort. Now go and enjoy "your" time it'll be over before you know it! Cheers, Jason
