Not exactly a production car, but notable none the less. Anyone recognize it?

Looks like some iteration of an early Ferrari Berlinetta. Maybe a 250 GT, or some such, but I'm not much of a Ferrari guy.
It's got that eggcrate grille that screams Ferrari, though.

The styling reminds me of the Zagato designed Fiat Otto Vu (8V) from the mid 50's.
So I would say that it is an Italian car from the same era, possibly from the same designer. ![]()

Seems like I'd seen some slideshow on some news site with a flathead Ford V8 powered, Italian designed, early '50's, Ferrari lookin' coupe that looked just like that.
I can't remember the name of the car. Some coach built, handful-of-cars produced kinda dealie.

It would be that. 1953
![]() It is/was in the Petersen museum (I smudged the background of the one pic). Bosley, the son of a wealthy nursery family in Mentor, Ohio, built it when I was a kid. I lived three mi. away in Painesville at the time. $9000 in 1953 was a LOT of money. ""Powered by a Chrysler Hemi engine, the low slung, fiberglass Bosley had an advertised top speed of more than 160 miles per hour. Intended as a dual-purpose sports/racing car, the Bosley had a 55 gallon gas tank which made it ideal for long distance races. Ohio-based creator Richard Bosley found it difficult to secure funding to produce his car in quantity. Built at a cost of over $9,000, this prototype remained the only Bosley GT Mark I ever produced."

[QUOTE=Eric Coffey;5694521]more pics:
Wow! Thanks! Where on earth did you find those pics? Petersen? I've Googled for them for many years ansd couldn't find much. The car was at my uncle's house two doors away, one afternoon and I couldn't keep my hands off it (my uncle was getting pretty pissed at me ![]() I think R&T did a piece on it back in the day and I remember seeing publicity shots of it at a Sebring 12 hr race (I remember him telling my uncle that he was going to take it down there). Then.....nothing. I thought it was a knockout then and still do. Are high res pics available?
