Material is free. I cut what I need out of the scrap pile at my dads shop. I'm more looking for design ideas, I got the fab down pat. I mean I could weld it up in aluminum but I'd have to buy that tubing.

My first complete lap of the Nurburgring in Arcade mode in the Zonda R after they were unlocked - first lap, mind you, with a few offs-
6:59. My arms are burning from the force feedback. Feels like I just did a few laps karting. I think I can pull down a 6:30 by the end of the day. |
2nd attempt, big off at Wehrseifen, screwed up Escbach, and rang in a 6:44.

I hate you Mike... Just saying.

I hot-rodded a '71 Mach1 Mustang and have been blowing by all the supercars on the Nordschleife in the online racing. It's hilarious hearing people on their headsets talking to each other saying "How the **** does that old Mustang go so fast?!"
Muahahahahaha!!!! |

Some of those cockpits are as big as my living room!
I'm wanting to make a base I can bolt the seat to and leave it in the room, then when I want to race bring out a piece(or several) that can be attached and the wheel and pedals mounted. I know it won't be fast when I want to race, but on the rare occasions that I get to race I make sure to have enough time that it will be worth it. |

I have a dedicated area that is set up for sim racing. I play mostly RFactor. |
When I get out of school I will have a pair of those side by side in the loft of my shop... Right across from the pool table with the slot car track that can be lowered on top of it...

Here's the simple and cheap set-up I made a couple of years ago using a left over racing seat and a couple of pieces of slotted angle iron.
IIRC total metal and hardware cost was around $25. GT5 looks pretty good but since we don't have PS3 I'm going to stick with the previous GT version on the kids PS2 :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1291380544.jpg |
Doug!
I havent touched my PS2 in a few years but GT5 has me thinking. Netflix, blueray, GT5.... |
