Neighbors dog

I need some advice on how to deal with my neighbors dog. He actually lives two doors down. Not sure what kind, but about 60 - 75#s.

He thinks my front yard is his personal bathroom. Lots of land mines. If I am in my front yard he will charge me barking and growling. He actually charged at my 65 yo mom when she was visiting.

I told my neighbor that one of 3 things would happen:
1. The dog will bite me. I will call the cops and have the dog taken away.
2. I will put a hole in the dog if he charges at me again.
3. You will keep the dog off my property and everybody lives happily ever after.

My neighbor opted for #4. Only let the dog out before I get home from work. I have not seen the dog but he is still leaving "evidence" in my front yard.

I DO NOT want to hurt the dog.

What can I do?

You need to check your state statutes to see what you can do in terms of filing to have this remedied. Otherwise, you also have the option of putting up a fence. Most likely the dog is some sort of nuisance that would potentially have him taken away from the owner...this is why they made invisible fences and you should remind him of that.

1. Brown Paper Bag
2. Load of "evidence"
3. Match

Mix ingredients, set on neighbors doorstep, light and run.

Repeat as often as necessary! (Or as long as it continues to give you a thrill )

Use one of these to send the "evidence" back to its rightful owner...

I think that's a federal crime. I don't think anyone but the mail person or person receiving the mail is supposed to be putting stuff in or taking stuff out of a mail box.

I could be wrong.

The only reason I mention it is that it would suck to be trying to get back at a jackass and have him get you arrested.

I was thinking about getting a BB gun to tag the dog whenever it was on my property. Sling shot would work too, but not for the poo.

I was also thinking about using a shovel to relocate the poo to the owner's driveway.

I realize it is not entirely the dogs fault, mostly the owners. That is why I really dont want to hurt the dog.

Last time it came at me it was growling with its teeth showing and hair sticking up on its back. I was actually scared it was going to attack me. I couldnt move. Fortunately the owner came out. That is when we had "words" and I gave the 3 choices.

Rainbird sprinkler set with a motion detector dog comes on to the lawn he gets wet.

Paint ball gun? Fire crackers?

Most pet stores sell dog repellant that you can spread around it will make him poo elswere. Yes he thinks that your lawn is his territory and must be broken of this.

How about a second chat with the owner. You might mention to him that he's not fooling you with his system. Ask him where he wants the dog crap delivered. Ask him if he's willing to bail his dog out of the pound.

In other words, let him no that you aren't going to tolerate his bull****, and it's his choice how he deals with it, but deal with it he will...

Therefore, if the above were carried out. it wouldn't bother me in the least. Personally, I just wouldn't want to go to jail for killing such a worthless POS. So I put up with the miserable creatures knowing that a lot of people really enjoy the things.

buy a game camera. gather evidence, and call the authorities. dont kill the dog. not it's fault the owner is a dirtbag.

you can get a decent game cam for around $150.

HEY! i just bought a device called a SCARECROW. it attaches to my garden hose...everytime something trips the motion sensor..a sprinkler (rain bird style) sends a high pressure spray.."chish chish chish!" you can set the angle it sprays. it would cover alot of your yard.

i got it for deer and it is working GREAT!! sprayed me a couple of times

need a pic? cost me $50 from amazon.
