I still have the "Save Mono Lake" license plate frame on my 1987 S10 Blazer 4x4, from when I was there last around 1990.

I always thought the Mono Lake Tufas looked alien.

an even better example is that all our ability to understand and manipulate in molecular genetics comes from what is called PCR -- and that came from a thermophilic bacterium out of a hot springs in Yellowstone National Park

if those hot pools had not been protected... no modern medical advances from mol. genetics

actually they 'borrowed' the research of Rosalind Franklin, and her work on the helix.

They got theirs published before hers, though...

Many years later, Crick admitted that they used her data.

Rascals! I just read up on that - seems like their work was actually interpreting the X-ray fluorescence work down by others. This may go back to the time of rod of Asclepius - some say that the snake represents the helix.

MAN, what a waiste of time and money, let's see get a bunch of uber geeks together give them billions of dollars of funding and find out...wait for it....THINGS EVOLVE...

Who would've thunk it?

you are missing the point entirely

however, I do not think this is as fundamental as the DNA structure work

Dr. Franklin should have shared the prize, tho she would likely have not gotten the helix from her data w/o Watson & Crick
