hand cream for dry winter skin

Following on from my cracked fingertips in winter thread, I noticed a lot of you applied creams and i tentatively bought neutrogena

its worked at once I have to say with barely a split or crack in my fingertips this last fortnight,
BUT what I have noticed however is a discoloration
between the same two fingers on both hands

(looks just like tobacco staining but don't smoke)

any ideas anyone,

I use the Neutrogena too, very happy with it! No discoloration of fingers here....

Maybe you should try use a roach clip....
(or is it the "two in the pink, two in the st... " discoloration.... )
Go wash your hands...

I have the same problem with cracked skin on my hands and fingertips in winter. The very best stuff, after having tried them all is, wait for this, Original Udder Balm. Made by Dionne Products in Iowa for farmers, the stuff is amazing. No grease, no stain, works fast. Cheap. No smell. I know lots of sophisticated folks laugh at this suggestion, since it involves cows, but it does work better for me than all the others. OriginalUdderBalm.com

Might be a similar product to BagBalm.
Shania uses it all over!!! BagBalm - Canada
I use it when my hands are in poor shape due to winter conditions and hand cleaners. Even some commercial soaps will set off the eczema like reaction I get from some aggressive soap products.
I will use some cortisone cream on the bad areas and after coat with the BagBalm.
BagBalm is pretty slimy stuff and takes a bit to work in.
Another good cream is a hemp product from the Body Shop?

If you have the split on the tip and still have to work, these can work pretty well. Pretty low profile, could be worn under a work glove, silicone cap, sort of like gel. You have to type in "silipos cap" in the search box at link. Bigger one for thumb, smaller for finger. You could wear it and work a trigger, if it was something that was going to keep you from going hunting

Have you thought about things you do/come into contact with that part of that hand as opposed to the other or both hands? Could be a reaction of the lotion to something or a stain from something else brought out by the lotion. Try to go through a process of elimination. You might come up with some ideas. You might start by actually trying to determine if its a topical stain or the tissue is actually stained.
