Well done Todd!

knock on wood, I haven't seen a BSOD on Win 7 yet...

I'll have more time tonight to play...We got in from Mexico after doing a startup this weekend! End of the year rush for everything!

HHI944 12-07-2010 01:30 PM

A guy was playing with one of those last night at best buy when I went to buy a case for my droid pro.

UconnTim97 12-07-2010 01:33 PM

Yes, excellent Photoshop. And quick too.

Not possible. They are only available direct from HP and are almost impossible to get!

This is a full Windows 7 Pro OS touch screen computer.

I need to get an owner of an iPad in Houston to meet for a geek off...

HHI944 12-07-2010 01:39 PM

Sorry, clarification, it was his personal slate, not on display or anything. Looked pretty neat overall, he was very absorbed in it!

Very cool. Can you talk about the HWR when/if you get a chance to use it?

I get a BSOD almost every day on a new fresh box I built with clean install of
Windows 7

Aggravating to say the least..going to re-install I think.

red-beard 12-07-2010 02:06 PM

John, I'll let you know.

BlueSkyJaunte 12-07-2010 02:11 PM

And for $250 I have a rooted B&N Nook Color...surfs the web just fine (and I can play Angry Birds, too!).

RWebb 12-07-2010 02:29 PM

Congrats!

I'll be interested to hear how the geek-off goes.

My interest in an iPad has plummeted since my iPhone lost all my songs and apps. I added...

OK, here is my first sentence for HWR:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1291766557.jpg

This was a mixture of cursive and block writing. It first recognizes the letters and then does word recognition. You don't have to use a special script like the old palm HWR. The neat part, you scratch a line through a word, and it deletes it. It was pretty slick.

The stylus also works as a precision pointer/mouse. And the pointer works as a "mouse" even off the screen. The little pointer follows it around.

Regular finger touching works very well, but some of the menus are pretty small. I have not yet tried any zooming functions.

The on board keyboard works much better than my WM 6.5 phone. Once you are in a text area, a little white tab appears off to the side of the screen. If you touch it, you can select keyboard or pen input. If you use the pen, it automatically brings up the writing input.

So far, I'm impressed. Again, an Ipad is needed for comparison.

I actually kinda liked some aspects of the old hwr on PocketPC. "scratching out" a word and having it go poof was a nice ui bit. Then again, I like the Newton hwr as well, so I'm weird that way.

I want some pie. Hmm, it's working!
