*gig alert* this FRIDAY

For those in SoCal who are interested, the nostatic trio + heads back to Sonny McLeans this FRIDAY 10dec10. This will be a great show with five different vocalists and two smokin' horn players doing a mix of jazz, funk, and soul. Downbeat at 8:30pm and we play until at least 11:30pm (later if people are still there rockin'). Sonny's has 28 beers on tap, and there is no cover. Plenty of advance warning for the local Pelicans.

I would like to go but it's a bit far to drive. Someday, though, there will be a drunk, obnoxious guy in the audience and you will know, you will know . . .

I'd love to go, but here in Southern Maryland "Velveeta and the Cheese Graters" are in the pocket...

Good work on "Fever" Todd. Nice cover of "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" with the extended break. In fact you guys hit a groove at about 5:00 in. I stayed the whole track.

Ol' Cannonball would be happy.

Thanks for the props, Milt. This band has its moments. Bump for any slackers who missed it the first time around.

Oh man? You guys cover Mercy? I used to play a the buddy rich fat back version with a group I played with a few years back.

I've got a big company christmas party tomorrow night, which sucks, because otherwise I'd actually be free to make it.

Good stuff.

Reminds me of one of my favorite semi famous should be bigger bands, Deep Bannana Blackout.

Luckily for you, we're playing at Brennan's in Marina del Rey again on Sunday the 19th It'll be a quintet with an amazing vocalist and tenor player.

Then for those in either the valley or mid-city, on Wed 5Jan the same quintet will be at Cafe Cordiale in Sherman Oaks, and then the Steely Jam plays Molly Malones on Friday 7Jan.
