There is a term called being "Nigger Rich" which is the description for having a brand new Caddy parked in front of your shack.

Is that the same as "White Trash Rich"?

Total light vehicle sales are up 11.1% through November, with many brands beating the trend and gaining market share: Buick is up 53.5%, Cadillac is up 38%, Infiniti is up 26% and Ford, Hyundai and Jeep are each up 23%.

With Toyota down about 1% calendar year to date. Toyota cars (not SUV or truck) down 8% for the year. Scion is down 25% CYTD.

And Cadillac is up 38%?

A lot of people (on this forum) are really hard on American cars...and rightly so after the 80s and 90s. That said, I really do have faith in Cadillac after visiting the dealership with my dad (who wanted a bigger car). They are definitely not the Cadillacs of the aforementioned era. The performance on these V-models is amazing and if it didn't have a Caddy badge on the nose...they would get the same praise their Euro competitors get. To be honest, I really think GM and Ford are trying...I can't say much for Chrysler though.

I kinda thought the same stuff until I sat down with a friend that owns a Chrysler Jeep dealer (I was a General Manager several years ago).

The new Chrysler 300 (and same-platform Dodge Charger) is really a big step in the right direction. The new Grand Cherokee is a home run. The new Pentastar V6 (shared in dozens of CJD models) is really getting rave reviews. The Patriot re-do looks promising.

If nothing else, their interiors have moved forward a few generations in just a couple years.

And they still sell more minivans than anyone else.
