Question Regarding Puppies

My Golden Retriever had 10 pups the Wednesday night. Father was a huge black lab. 5 black pups and 5 Golden pups. The question regards the runt of the litter. We are trying to get her to latch on and when we do Duchess licks on her as if to push her off of her. SO we keep trying and the same thing happens. Is she purposely shunning the runt? If so, other than feeding it with a dropper anything else we should do?

hold her head / or one of those lampshade collars..
little guy just needs a break..
they catch up fast..
if given the chance..
my 'runt' hit 125 lbs..he's a big fella now..

How many teets on the female?

Sometimes there are just too many in the litter.

Have had this happen with dogs and cats. You may need to bottle feed.

quite possibly, yes

congrats on your Go-labs!

can you call your vet as to how the best way to deal this is?

I just got in, my wife has been trying to feed her but she just doesn't want to eat. She is quite cool to the touch. I have been holding her on my chest trying to warm her but she still is cool, shallow breathing. As for the rest of the pups they are doing great...and they are going to be huge, for so young their feet almost look abnormally large.

Pup may be getting dehydrated. Get it to a vet, now.

Last time we had this with a cat it was 7 kittens and 6 teets.

Every day we took a different kitten and bottle fed so they all had an equal shot at momma.

yes!

Vet NOW! Emerg. Animal Hosp. will be open no matter your time zone

VET NOW!

On the way, keep the pup very warm and rub her (like you would rub your hands when you're cold) briskly to stimulate some circulation.
