Kimber 1911- update

cleaned it real good last night, went to my shooting spot..... shot 300 rounds ( time constraint) not one FTF, no stove pipes nothing no hiccups.... bambambam! it was a welcome relief. I'm back in love with my 1911, FUN. Only thing I can figure out is it did indeed need to break-in. Will shoot more on Sunday

Was it a brand new one?

Full size, offcer, carry?

I have an Ultra CDP II (short barrel), that I bought about 6 years ago when Kimber was messing around with that external extractor bs. I did some work on it, before finally sending it back to Kimber, where they repladced the slide, and barrel, all for free.

Since then, in about 5 years, I have not had a single stovepipe or problem with it. It has been dead reliable, and I have shot it a lot...

Im glad it went well. My kimber was a little shaky when i first got it, a few stovepipes every 50 rounds.(could have been some limp wrist) It now feeds trouble free, they are just very tight guns.

The holster is a Milt Sparks, IWB Versa Max 2. I really like it, and actually have two of them, one for the Kimber, and one for my Springfield M&P 40 compact.

and how many years have i been saying go out with (3) different flavors and shoot 200 rds???????????????????????? and see what groups best and NEVER deviate from those rounds for your carry piece???????????

now heres something else ya needs to know. since thats an itsy bitsy baby .45, everything has been downsized to make it itsy bitsy. and this means THEY ARE MEANT ONLY FOR CCW carry and THEY ARE NOT MEANT NOR DEEE-SIGNED TO BE SHOT ALOT THE SAME AS A FULL SIZE 1911 .45.

so think real damn hard about blasting mega rounds thru ANY itsy bitsy alloy frame .45.

my itsy bitsy springfield ultra micro compact has maybe 500 rds thru it over the years. my full size 1911's......................i dont even worry about it.

this comes from nelson ford(thegunsmith.com) who knows a hell of alot more about ANY firearm than anyone on this board, because thats what he does for a LIVING!
