my computer doesn't update the pages lately

when i get on pelican, the forum page time and date is from the last time i was there. i have to refresh the page to get the current time/date. several other sites too, so it's not just here. windows home/aol 9.0. what's the fix, other than aol sucks?

RWebb 12-14-2010 04:28 PM

I had some issues on Pelican today not updating prev'ly read posts.

does aol have its own browser? and what happened when you hit the refresh button on the browser?

could it be that your buffers need to be flushed?

john walker's workshop 12-14-2010 04:43 PM

the refresh button updates it fine. flush the buffers, eh?

cold boot the computer, then use CCleaner to remove all the temporary internet files, or maybe they call the files by the name of the browser; it will likely be the default setting in ccleaner

that is like a "light refresh" on a 915...

nope, same thing this morning. seems like when i downloaded the latest IE a while ago, it started doing that. also after that, i can't find the cookies folder any more.

Yeah I had the same problem with my old work comp. But it only happened with Pelican. I would have to refresh twice to get the current page.

get rid of IE & use Firefox or Chrome (?)

consider that it might be Wayne working on the data base, or some such issue, not local to your cmptr. I noticed some issues with the forum telling me that I haven't yet read a post that I just posted. -weird.

edit: I cleared all cookies, logged back on, and problem went away.

Had some CGI errors today too, don't know if it that's related to the not refreshing issue.
