AK kabooms
Back during the Vietnam days, the CIA figured out how to open the Chinese ammo cans and reseal them without leaving a trace. Once open, they would replace one round with a cartridge loaded with high explosives and replace the tin where it was found. When the unlucky NVA or VC pulled the trigger on the hot round it would explode, destroy the weapon and usually kill the operator. Since only one round was inserted, it was impossible for the secret to be found out. Meanwhile, a whisper campaign was started spreading the rumor that the Chinese ammo was dangerous and not to be trusted! Imagine how that mind game worked on the NVA and VC that had to use the ammo!! The same concept was used on mortar rounds. One round in each sealed can of 3 was rigged to explode when the round slid down the tube and hit the firing pin. This usually destroyed the mortar tube and the crew as well! Again, only one round in the box was rigged so they never found out what was going on!!
