This virus is everywhere right now. Don't open attachments! I am on several mailing lists and have a .edu address and must have received at least 10 copies of it today.

Programs like Norton Antivirus will detect it if you update to the latest virus definitions.

Chris, and others:

It also can be sent unknowingly by people that you do know, so be careful. The above link to norton will take care of it (this from our Dept of State).

Regards

the 'party' virus isn't vectored thru an attachment, it gets entry to you files via what looks like a hyper link. Click on it and you are infected.

Kahuna....I didn't click it on. I was in "sent items" and Norton flashed that big red box on my screen. Norton says it's a worm.

Send a message via AIM to widebody911 Send a message via Yahoo to widebody911
I've received about 50 (I am *NOT* kidding!) copies of that in the past 24 hours. I read my mail on a unix box, so I'm able to go into the message without any danger. This is what is screwing you guys:

begin 666 www.myparty.yahoo.com
M35J0``,````$````__\``+@`````````0```````````````` ```````````
(snip)

Basically, it's a straight-up virus masquerading as a URL in the message. If you're using one of Unka Bill's retarded programs that automatically load embedded web pages, you're as screwed as a 98-lb inmate.
