Overcast here with a few breaks in clouds. I was able to get a few pictures - first attempts with my garage sale purchased Mead ETX 90mm and my Nikon D60.

Cool, thanks!

Good morning,
It's 2:57am EST. I Just came inside. It's a beautiful clear crisp night. Awesome view. Lots of stars visible. Mid eclipse is at 3:17am I will be going back out shortly. I'm trying to take pics but I am not sure of how they are coming out. |
Was lucky enough to see it here in Seattle. Picture didn't come out though.
|
Nice shots!

IT'S FiNG RAINING HERE!!!!!! I WAS GOING TO RENT A PLane and fly above it but decided it was a bad idea because I would be up there all night. $hit! I am looking forward to viewing your photos though.

Its 11 here and I was about to head to bed, but took one more look at the BBS and this thread reminded me to check again. The clouds had broken up and there it was with just a sliver showing. My son Alex had been watching online, but was so stoked to see it in person. Ok we just had another break in the clouds and are definitly past total at this point.
Good show |
I woke my 10 year old up to watch. There will be other eclipse's but not another eclipse during the winter solstice in our lives.
|
I wanted to see the eclipse, but Mother Nature must have been angry and I had no virgins to sacrifice to appease her.

I'm using a regular camera (35mm/DSLR) tripod I've owned for decades - not as rigid as I'd like. Once I get it set up and the telescope aimed, I don't dare touch the tripod as I adjust the telescope, or the aim is disturbed. I'll likely pursue a telescope tripod in the future. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1292942430.jpg |
I got up at 1:00am to see it. My son was still awake playing WoW and the wife even got up.
I sat back with a little Knob Hill and watched it slowly eclipse. It was a little cloudy, but there were enough breaks to see it very well. I got a few pictures but haven't seen if any came out. |
I took a look at about 6:30 this am. Looked like the usual moon to me, so I'll wait until the next one...
|
I have to admit I almost stayed toasty warm under my covers but then my fiance reminded me I would never have a chance to see this again.... Absolutely beautiful and amazing! Sky was cloudless and the stars were huge, almost 3D. We even saw a shooting star just to make it all the more special to be sharing it with the guy I love...
|
Unfortunately none of my pictures came out :(
I guess I should have gotten off my ass and pulled out a tripod. Imagine if this picture was taken with a tripod :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1292967250.jpg |
It turned out to be clear here, excellent
|
I was out cold by 11.
