Corvette Driver Busted By Cops After Posting Video To YouTube - Oklahoma City News Story - KOCO Oklahoma City

Dip****!

Noah930 12-22-2010 07:53 PM

Wow. 190 mph. Musta been exciting.

Numbskull. (And that's only because no one got hurt--otherwise he'd deserve much worse accolades.)

artplumber 12-22-2010 08:09 PM

The whole thing seems a little far fetched. 190? in a Corvette? in traffic? Are these guys related to the flying Targa?

Gogar 12-22-2010 08:11 PM

Denis did WHAT??????

looneybin 12-22-2010 08:13 PM

sure the speedo wasn't in KPH?

porsche4life 12-22-2010 08:17 PM

Do you see the youtube vid? The one titled, 1000+hp Corvette Highway Acceleration? That explains the 190... The vid has been removed from youtube of course...

looneybin 12-22-2010 08:17 PM

didn't see the vid, it got removed too soon

MotoSook 12-22-2010 08:31 PM

Can they make it stick? If yes, then a whole lot of videos out there can incriminate a lot of people.

porsche4life 12-22-2010 08:35 PM

I have a feeling they will make an example out of this idiot. They have a pretty good feeling they can make it stick or OHP wouldn't have slapped cuffs on him.

emcon5 12-22-2010 08:41 PM

Someone saved it and reposted.

Epic assclown.

On edit: Rumor from another board is:

Quote:

Finally, a story that I have some inside knowledge about. He did his little run on a turnpike. They use a system called PikePass. It's one of those systems that charges you automatically when you pass points along the turnpike and at the entries and exits. He had a PikePass in his car. They know, to the second, when he passed certain points. They can prove his average speed between points. He's screwed.

porsche4life 12-22-2010 08:47 PM

Wow... There are a few stretches of TP in OK that I could see doing that. But that is an area in town that is known to have heavy traffic and idiot drivers...

Gogar 12-22-2010 08:48 PM

The only fitting punishment for that guy is a Leatherman to the balls from Rip Taylor. And then Bruce Vlanch gets to stitch 'em up with dental floss and a Crochet hook, while Kathy Griffin recites some Shakespeare in the background, while feeding Oprah a Red Velvet cake that she just ran through a meat grinder.

HHI944 12-22-2010 08:50 PM

Here's the vid
YouTube - 1000 HP Corvette Doing 195 mph
I don't see any speed indicator visible in the video and I don't see scenery passing nearly fast enough to equate to 195.....maybe 100, but unless that white truck was doing 180, not even close to 195.

HHI944 12-22-2010 08:53 PM

Maybe there was a malfunction in the timestamp on the pike pass system? Somehow, I don't think the pikepass system meets the standards of calibration for speed detection...

How, exactly, did they 'verify' that he is not only the owner, but the driver of the vehicle?

You mean beside his face in the rear view mirror?

Perhaps it's a work image alteration and frame rate play intended to mislead people into believing he went those speeds?

See my edit above.

OH yeah, and after he gets his balls stitched up by Bruce Vlanch, Andy Dick gets to spray his balls with Salt Water from a manual-fill Fire Extinguisher, then Wee Man from Jackass comes out of nowhere and kicks him in his newly-stitched, salty ballsack.

HHI944 12-22-2010 09:02 PM

I'm not saying the guy isn't a stupid d-bag, I'm just saying that this is ****ty case to prove on the part of the prosecution. All the video proves is that he was in the car and going faster than a few other cars. All the pike pass time stamps prove is.......nothing. I have one for our local toll and it's accuracy is pure crap. I've seen the light go green when I'm 200m out and other times I've seen it not go green at all.

I don't think it'll make it to trial.

emcon5 12-22-2010 09:03 PM

Nice Ninja Edit. Not sure if you are tying to make yourself sound less ridiculous, but your post-edit comments are not much of an improvement.

And that is the same video I posted 3 above yours.

Or maybe, just maybe, he was a douchebag going 150+ on a crowded freeway in traffic?

And evidently that was the slow video, there was another one going faster that hasn't been reposted yet.

Not smart, but he only passed one vehicle at any great rate. Considering that the Autobahn allows unlimited speeds in certain areas (on TWO lane sections, just like this one), I'm not going to crucify this guy. He took the risk of getting caught - and he was.

People on the Autobahn expect you to drive very fast. Americans don't, and change lanes for no apparent reason.
