Prime rib for dinner.

My picture-fu is weak, but the meat was delish!

RUB:

4t Kosher Salt
3t Black Pepper
3t Garlic (or powder)
3t Rosemary (fresh or 2t dried)
3t Olive Oil

I don't recall who had the standing rib-roast thread a week or so ago, but thank you!

A rib roast (and its spawn - the rib steak) is the King of Red Meat.

That looks spectacular!

How much did that piece of meat run you? What do I call that cut when I ask the butcher?

Thanks!

You ask for a prime rib roast or standing rib roast. It has the large beef bones attached. One rib - a small family, two rib - a larger group, three rib for 6-8 etc. The roasts with smaller bones are the 'best cut' - they will also bulge at bit at the end. $3.99/lb is a great price here. We stock up when it is on sale & freeze them. Take it out of the freezer a day in advance.
