That to...I was told a story about BH buying his squeeze Marilyn Maxwell a diamond bracelet, which he put in the glove box of his car. His wife while riding with him found it, so he had to buy another just like it for Marilyn, and later at a party both his wife and Marilyn were wearing the same bracelets and it created an interesting little scene.

A friend of mines Dad was a Film Editor, who belonged to the same Country Club down in Palm Springs. My friends Dad complained to the Board about BH not paying his dues and after that my firends Dad didn't work again.

I loved BH in the movies and don't doubt his sincerity about entertaining the troops during the war or after, but there was more to it than just altruism.
