Fluke Multimeter Accessory Questions......
I have a couple of Flukes. I find myself using them constantly.
I hate the fact that I only have the straight probes. Has anyone ever invested in the Automotive Test Lead Kits? Are they worth it? The ones from Fluke run $175 and up. A couple of other companies look like they make compatible accessories for a lot cheaper. I'd like to get slip on alligator clips, insulation piercers, battery terminal clips, a temp probe, etc. Should I buy the kit or just go to an electronics parts store and buy them individually? |
Get the kit. Then it's done! You'll be happier and live longer.
Best, Tom |
Do you mean this kit? I have it and it's great. Well worth the money.
But I've been suffering from a tool fetish for about 20 years... ;) Fluke TLK282 SureGrip deluxe automotive test lead kit http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1293522612.jpg |

Cool Stuff...now to see if Sears makes anything similar for my "Craftsperson" meter...

Pfffft....don't expect any deals.

Those are nice but do you really need those OSHA approved shielded banana plugs to work on your car?
Is there a surplus place around you where you could pick up some Pomona Banana Plug Patch Cords and alligator clips for around $10 |
That was my original question.....I don't need another set of leads, just the slip ons.....can't seem to find what I'm looking for online.
Maybe the phone book might help......if I can find it. |
Arrrgh...ya got me! I just ordered this:
Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more Yep, "Craftsperson" is good enough for me.... |
Cars is not the main use of this meter but I do use it there (why it is so dirty, but it is 15 years old). These are the only test leads I ever recall using.
You can put a short piece of bare solid wire in the alligator clips to probe the backs of connectors. Somewhere I have alligator clips that go on the pin jack sized leads of the Fluke probes but I can't find them. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1293560377.jpg |

Rick...you just illustrated why fluke is "the best" for people who use meters a lot...yours, 15 years old & going strong. When RoninLB was here, we compared my Sears unit with his Fluke....the readings were comparable. But for some reason, Ron wanted to hang on to his Fluke...;)

Pulled the trigger....snow is a coming, I have some projects to do. Went with the 18 dollar mail order option.
Don't need all the bells and whistles offered with the Silvertronic and Fluke offerings. |
