My son wants to be a Pelican

This is my son Emmett. He is going to be 5 in December. We went to a used bookstore today and in the childrens section, they have stuffed animals for sale. Well, look what Emmett found. We brought him home with us. When we got home he asked me, "Daddy, does this mean I can join that club you belong to on the computer"? So what do you think guys, should we let him in? He doesn't know it yet, but that is his 911 behind him. I'm just happy he can't reach the pedals yet because I'm not ready to give it up.

Yes! He deserves it! At least he knows what a "Pelican" is.

I walked up to a guy a the Chevron the other day. I exclaimed "993 C2. Nice" Asked how long he had it: 2 years. Was this his first Porsche: no, he had an 85 Carrera before. I told him I had an '87. I asked if he was a Pelican: "A what?" I chuckled and said "Guess not". I aked him who does his service as I looked at his licence plate holder. It was a local shop, well known and very good rep for Porsche, Lambo, Lotus. He was a little stand off-ish with his Blue Tooth device stickin' out his ear; I was dressed in my yard workin' grubbs. I asked how many miles he puts on a year. He told me it wasn't his only car, that he does'nt drive it every day; 2000 Kilomters. Considering my appearance, I had to point to the F150 at the other end of the station and say I had another vehicle as well (no to mention two). He had to go. I bid him farewell.

Not the warmest of encounters. Not a Pelican for certain. Your son knows what a Pelican is with apparent entusiasm. He sure deserves to be one.

I always remember the prententious douche nozzle that corrected me when I was trying to be nice.... said I like his new 911....."it's a CARRERA".....it was an 85 targa with cookie cutters....POS.

I dropped a note with a Pano article in his inbox a week later describing the dilution of the marque by calling all 911s, Carreras......heard he bitced in the office for a week....

I tried to show him the secret handshake, but when we got to the part about spitting in your hand and shaking, he said "yuk" and walked away. He even knows the proper way to say Porsche. I was looking at magazines a few months ago and Emmett said Daddy, that looks like your porsha. A guy standing next to me said it's actually Porsh. I said actually it's Porsha and he said are you sure? I told
him, I am positive. He probably still thought we were wrong.

I had the PORSHA convo the other day... Some of the girls up at the dorms were asking about the crest on my laptop... One of them asked why is said it PORSHA. So I explained... And offered to take her for a ride in mine.

Great, now I need to explain why he can't see the chest thread because it's different than the one he keeps his toys in. Now he wants to see the spoon thread to see what you guys eat your cereal with. If he starts acting up, I'm going to have to threaten to sell the 911 and buy a 928. That usually scares him enough to keep him in line. He found out that if I order parts here, he gets a cool pelican sticker. I told
him I can't just buy a bunch of parts just to get a sticker because then he will have to sleep in the shed with daddy because mommy is going to go ballistic.

You'll have to put a Pelican T-shirt in his Xmas stocking.

Mines wore out and I'll be ordering one to w/ the off season, winter parts upgrades.

I think he may be a bit too mature for this crowd.
