simple snacks

Ones that take little to no effort and are good...

I like shelled walnuts and Gorgonzola cheese.

What are your favorites?

Jerky. Price has doubled in the past few years so now I make my own. Pepperoni, cheeses, guacamole, PB and Ritz or on a spoon straight out of the jar. Get a bag of potstickers, toss in a pan, wait a few and enjoy.

sammyg2 12-28-2010 03:10 PM

cocktail wieners wrapped in bacon, sprinkled with brown sugar, baked at 350 for a half hour or so.

They're a whole bunch better than they sound.

javadog 12-28-2010 03:13 PM

Olives from France or Italy. Sun-dried tomatoes, roasted peppers, artichokes in oil, etc.
Most nuts.
Fruit.
Salumi.
Dried fruit.
Doritos.

Cream cheese on celery!

I keep a large bag of strawberries in the freezer. I'll partially defrost a bowlful then cover them in plain or vanilla yogurt.

Smoked salmon with cream cheese, capers, red onion, black olives, cucumber on sourdough bread! Squeeze some lemon, too.

My connection is so terrible, I can't post the picture. :(

A simple snack for me is PB on graham crackers dipped in milk. Yummy! Too bad I gotta be careful because the kids have the peanut and tree nut allergies. Suxs...

trekkor 01-02-2011 04:46 PM

I made some stuffed mushrooms, too.

Not as simple, but still wonderful!

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._3711570_n.jpg

Big hit.

I wouldn't consider that a simple snack, however sounds and looks great and will try it some time...

KT

Dude, seriously! You are making me hungry... Lol

Again I would not consider that as simple. We make good appetizers but never consider them as a quick simple snack...

trekkor 01-02-2011 05:04 PM

The salmon is about 10 minutes to prep for six people.
The mushrooms were more like an hour...
