i love my couch!
i am sitting in it. i just unloaded my truck of all the gifts, and stuff. what a holiday! i woke up in SoCAL this morning, and hit the streets of LA looking for yummy taiwanese food. stuffed like a bloated tick, i drove home. i even had some nice chinese lady fill my thermos with hot, sweetened, fresh pressed, soy milk.
now i am home..my wife is flitting around the house unpacking..i am nestled into my couch. tired. and my fridge has NO BEER! my MIL cleaned my entire home last night!! i love that lady. my house is spotless. she even put in new floor mats in the bathroom..the toilet seat looks new..WAIT IT IS NEW!

So, I'm curious, how's Taiwanese different from mainland Chinese? I'd assume primarily seafood? One of these days, I need to get over to the west coast and get someone to show me some authentic Chinese of various styles. I generally love most things Asian. I'd like to know more about Chinese food than the usual stuff that's made in every restaurant chain in the US.

taiwanese food..hmm.
alot of noodles. chow fun in chinese food is a noodle. in taiwan they do it differently. it is cut disc of noodle. fun to eat. there is a breakfast item. it is sticky rice rolled into a burrito shape. it is filled with shredded dry meat, sausage, and a fried donut of sorts. wonderful. i am just learning about taiwanese food. since i married a taiwanese woman.

LA sure is the place for food.
For a while I was doing Thai, then Vietnamese for a while... so many good mom & pop places. Sometimes I'll just go out driving and not look up a place first, just drive until I see a sign of a place I haven't been, stop in, and try it.
