Very cool. I checked out a customer on google maps recently and noticed I could read their sign. The letters are maybe three feet tall. Pretty good from a satellite.

Almost all the of the high resolution stuff on Google maps and Goole Earth is actually aerial photography. It was shot from an airplane flying about 3 to 4 thousand feet. Google calls it a satellite view as a convenient term. Everyone know that will be a photo from above.
