dual sport MC
I pulled the trigger on a new to me KTM 640. It is very dirt biased compared to my brothers KLR and feels more like a overgrown MX bike.
Had a great road trip to pick it up this past thurday. Door to door was about 26 hours total covering 1,548 miles. For a all inclusive average of 59.54 mph. 99.6 gallons of diesel consumed for a 15.4 mpg average. (could have bumped that up a bit but I wanted to get home) I just need to wait for spring to take her out for some muddy test rides ![]() ![]()

Sweetness.
I'm getting closer to finding a nice dual sport. I found a nice TE 450 Husqvarna in middle TN, but I'm still seriously considering either of Yamaha's WR250s (dual sport or supermoto). What you think of the vibration of that LC4? |

It shakes a lot !
![]() If you want something that strikes a better middle ground, I'd look at the Suzuki DR models

Perhaps he was talking about the vehicle that hauled it home.
That said, there is a diesel KLR affair around. I'm happy enough with the gasser. Jim

Sorry for the confusion. The point being, if you find the bike you want, go get it. ![]()

I frequently find bikes I want. I just can't afford them.
Nor do I have the garage space in which to store them. Nor do I have the pickup (diesel or otherwise) in which to pick them up. Congrats on the bad-a$$ KTM.

Nice bike, you'll love it.....As far as KLR, Suz DR, or KTM, it depends on your intent.....The first two are better for the road, not so good off-road. The KTM is more dirt oriented. The KTM is noticabily faster and handles better. The KLR and Suz cruise the highway better. I've owned them all, currently have 2 Honda XR650L's and just added this KTM 625:
