Let Us Watch This One
Ok Boyz let see how good ya all are at apprisal Let us follow this auction lot and see what it goes for.
This is a contemporary Flintlock lock rifle probably built in the 1970's or 80's. It was built by William Buchele. Do some research and give me some info that is not in the description and what ya think it will sell for at auction later this month. https://www.proxibid.com/asp/LotDetail.asp?ahid=1290&aid=34943&lid=9512694&rfpb =0#0 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1293999797.jpg |

Price estimate......
Since this one is being sold in a Martin auction where big bucks tend to gather, it is going to be hard to say. However, I know of several other custom built flint rifles done by quality builders currently for sale at around $1200 - $2,000. I would say that in this auction, the gun you are showing will bring around $3,500. Worth it? Maybe, maybe not, but like I said, there will be some deep pockets bidding!

It says it's a public poll and anyone can see how you vote, How do you see that?
|
Basic PO Boys and Barn rifles go for $1200 to $2000... Start embellishing, with wood , carving, inlays, engraving. it goes up and then add in the notriety of the builder....that is the basic price structure involved. in having one made.
Another factor is if the builder made his own lock and or barrel. Some builder go to that level of craftsmanship. |

This is kind of a fun thing, do a bit of a search, come to a conclusion and cast your vote. Then see who can come the closeest to the price realized. |

Ah yes, another thread created by the great and powerful Oz to showcase his expansive and extensive knowledge of all things banal, then cajole others for not demonstrating the correct level of knowledge.
