"After hitting the median and shearing the stop sign pole three inches above the ground, Stildolph's sports-car became airborne and flew over Highland Avenue before crashing into a two-foot stone wall belonging to the home on 24 Highland Ave. The vehicle flew a total of 42 feet before crashing into the center support and porch roof overhang to the second floor of the house.
The car hit the stone wall in front of 24 Highland Ave. so hard that it sent a stone fragment flying through the front window of the home before it came to rest on a dining room chair in the rear of the home, Sgt. Lisa Cotto said.

Stidolph's attorney Eugene Riccio said, "This was an unfortunate incident ..."

LOL. Unfortunate indeed!

Big brother is watching:

"Police are also trying to analyze a control box inside the sports car that will tell them exactly how fast the vehicle was traveling before it became airborne, Cotto said. "

I would dispute at least some of the charges...

Quote:
Russell Stildolph, 35, of 19 Bluff Ave., Norwalk, was additionally charged with reckless driving, traveling unreasonably fast, failure to obey a stop sign and failure to wear a seat belt.
How could they tell he wasn't wearing a seatbelt when the car was upside down and if they lied about the seatbelt, then I would have to question the other charges as well

I'm kind of amazed that the car didn't penetrate deeper into the house. Given the span of the front porch, there must be a sizable beam where he hit. A few feet up or down, and this could have been a much more tragic story.
