virus question
 

Sorry off topic but...

I just got an e-mai with a strange subject. The subject reads:
"Re: INFO REQUESTED (0641WpHb6-@9)" and there is an attachment. I haven't heard of this subject in the virus but I also haven't requested any info. If I just open the e-mail will it trigger the virus or can I open as long as I don't open the attachment.

sometimes when opening a attachment I get the warning that says "this file may contain a virus, but that doesn't mean the email itself doesnt contain a virus. I never open anything like that at all. It's either porn, bs advertisements, or it indeed it could be a virus. Also with spam mail, sometimes when you open one they know and therefore send more. I would just say delete it even though I'm not sure if you can get a virus just from opening the email.

DON'T OPEN ATTACHMENTS FROM PEOPLE YOU DON"T KNOW! IN FACT, EVEN IF YOU KNOW THE SENDER, BE VERY CAREFUL, PARTICULARLY IF THE SUBJECT LINE IS SUSPICIOUS.

VIRUSES ARE LAUNCHED MANY TIMES FROM ATTACHMENTS AND CAN DO MAJOR DAMAGE.

From a sender you don't know, delete it! Don't even read it, it doesn't matter, you don't know them....
Do this ALWAYS, seriously!

Thanks guys. I deleted it without opening. I'll never understand the charge the hackers get out of creating a virus...but I'm sure my p-car addiction is a mystery to them as well.

I have never received a virus until today.... Just a FYI.... I got it from the Synronized (VW Syncro group) and the title was something like: "Pics from my party" and it had an attachment. It apparently doesnt do any damage...but it sends itself to all your addresses in outlook AND back to the sender to track it.... Brian
