My ultimate "Guy" movie has not been mentioned, and isn't actually a good movie in any classic sense, but it's still my all time favorite GUY movie: Top Gun!

Love the flying and the music - especially the opening scene.

Is it my favorite movie? Not by a long shot.

I always loved Top Gun. Looking back the volleyball scene seems like a homo-erotic fantasy.

The Terminator series is good action.

My favorite guy movie would have to be Blazing Saddles. Anyone can blow up stuff, comedy is hard.

Here's another vote for Breaker Morant and Patton. Who says a guy movie can't also be a quality flick that demonstrates film making at its best.

My personal nomination would be "The Man Who Would be King" Sean Connery and Michael Caine at their best.

For action, adventure and special effects......How about Battlefield Earth??

That one's hard for me and my siblings to watch... sort of like a documentary of our family life growing up. Navy bootcamp was easy because I was already used to regular inspections.

Lots of good ones listed already. I watched Heavy Metal a couple of weeks ago for the first time in many many years. I had forgotten how much of a guy movie that one was.

And if you do check out Heavy Metal you'll probably want to give it a good preview before choosing it for family movie night!

Ice-Man is looking more like IceCream-Man these days.
