I just found my cars first owner!
I was very curious about the couple that owned my 944 for its first decade so I decided to do some searching. They bought the car in Chicago in 1984 and traded it in in Denver in 1994. They maintainded it very well. They Even managed to destroy all 4 rotors at 43,000. I'm going to send them a letter tomarow.
Anyone else have a story like this? Jackson |

A couple of years after I bought the old E, I was on a sales call to a client and ended up talking to their comptroller. I had seen a red Saab turbo in his parking spot, so got talking about cars. Before long, he was telling me about a '69 Porsche he had brought back from Germany in '92, but had lost in a divorce, when he was living in Halifax.
Yep! Same car. He was able to tell me when the front suspension pan had failed and been replaced and why the key in the ignition didn't work in the doors. Have fun Les

I grew up with the previous owner of my car. He made me constantly wonder what in the world he was thinking whenever I found yet another half-baked repair on it.

Cool idea -- no reason not to create a documentary file for the car. Porsche is not making any more 944s. |

I grew up watching my car. A local surf shop owner owned it since new. The surf shop was right up the street from my house. In the summer I would pass it every day on my way to the beach. It would be sitting in front of his surf shop Targa top off with a surfboard in the passenger seat. When I turned 21 I bought it. His wife made him sell it as they needed a family car for their growing family. When ever I see him he asks if I am treating his car well. a few months ago I was in Philadelphia eating sushi at the sushi bar. A guy sitting next to me and myself get in a conversation. As it turns out he is the eldest son of the guy I bought the car from. He remembers being a young boy riding in the car with his dad and his mother making his dad sell the car.
On the same topic but a different twist I would like to try and locate my first car. When I turned 17 my mother gave me a 66 Mustang. Like a bone head I traded it for an RX7 when I turned 19. How would I go about trying to track that car down? I still have an old registration with the vin. |
