What did you hit?

When I was in my teens I snow skied all winter, every weekend. We didn't stay inside because it was cold.

As adults, we spend too much time indoors so I thought we should get out.

We had a blast with our kids, my niece and her dad(my BIL).

No injuries but man I am going to be sore tomorrow.

We left when the teenagers at the hill started constructing a pretty large snow ramp. I told my BIL"THAT is going to be too tempting to resist so we had better leave". He agreed.:D

I went sledding with my kids for the first time over Christmas/New Years. I thought they might be a bit scared at first (they're little), but they had a blast. My son was giggling like the Joker the entire way down, every time. My daughter wanted to do everything the bigger kids did, and had a blast also. It was all fun and games until my nephew hit a small jump. It couldn't have been a lip of more than about 3 or 4 inches high, but Kapow! He exploded off the toboggan like Charlie Brown on the pitcher's mound. Bruised his butt.

My sledding story...

I followed a guy on a sled with a tobagon. When he hit the bottom, he slid forward on the sled and the back end went up. I ran into the back of him and a sled runner went into my mouth. Broke my nose, jaw and knocked all my teeth loose. Blood every where like I was bleeding like a stuck pig. Had to get two root canals and wire my all my teeth/mouth shut for months.

I wasn't a happy 11 year old.

We never get enough snow to have really good sledding here.... Unless it is ATV assisted. :D

Over the Xmas break, both my kids were home and wanted to go sledding like when they were youngsters! So I loaded up the Unimog with four intertubes from one of the Unimogs I had parted out. They work great, they are about 45" in diameter and 15" thick! Plus have a regular short fill valve, so nothing to stick into yea. Wife, the kids (age 24 and 20) and me. We had a ball, and the best part is you are riding on a cushion of air! so no pain the next day! Once home I deflated the tubes and put them back on the shelf for next time, or when someone needs one for their truck.

I have the same story! Didn't break my jaw, but I could stick my tongue out below my lower lip! I was on a Krazy Karpet. I wonder if they still make those?
Quite a few visits to the dentist to save my lower front teeth!

The first time I took our kids sledding was a trip. EVERY bump was felt through the sled. Now I have a thick foam one. I also found a hill where I can watch from the car which helps. But last year this really cute girl came up to me while sledding and said 'Hi, my name is Jen and I just turned 18'. For some reason she had thought I just had recently just graduated HS. Of course I didn't correct her. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

sledding/innertubing. wow.

i remember vaguely going to the hospital. i was vomiting violently after a horrific accident. the doctor told my mom to not let me sleep, and when i got better, to enroll me in some skiing lessons..you know, for safety.

Bought this for my Nieces & Nephew a couple of years ago. They love it.

Figured with steering and brakes they can avoid hazards. Seems to have worked thus far...

Yep, last week. Saucer, 20 foot tow strap, and away you go.

Wayne,
You're going to be sore for a few days!

Oh Haha 01-17-2011 03:46 PM

Amanda is in worse pain than I. She "found" one of the manhole covers on one of her runs. We've both sounded very elderly getting out of bed this morning.

Sitting in an office chair all week doesn't give you much excercise.
