HardDrive 01-17-2011 12:21 PM

Damn right I'm calling my broker. So I can buy.

enzo1 01-17-2011 12:35 PM

I agree....

RWebb 01-17-2011 12:39 PM

I hope enuff people sell to make it a buy.

Good luck to Steve Jobs.

aigel 01-17-2011 12:43 PM

Stock dropped 8% in Frankfurt today.

I'm still wishing I had bought more in the low 100's. The company will be fine, and I hope Steve is too.

porsche4life 01-17-2011 07:39 PM

I see it taking a slight hiccup now, then continuing on the rise.

island911 01-17-2011 09:35 PM

I hope Jobs hangs in there... He beat some tough odds already - few survive pancreatic cancer.(great Docs)

Apple has some very good people to keep things going.

OTOH, I expect that most of those saying "its a good time to buy" say so because they are selling.

aigel 01-17-2011 09:44 PM

Don't underestimate the importance of Jobs. He has done a very poor job building up a suitable replacement. From what I read a lot of the successful products and marketing are solely his work. Much of the hype around Apple is tied to Jobs.

Basically the Euro stock market told us that they think Apple is worth 20 billion less without Jobs ... I don't think that's a knee jerk reaction.

Buy, sell, what diference does it make if one bought at $75 per share. I think aapl will do just fine but it will have an adjustment over the next week or so.

KFC911 01-18-2011 03:51 AM

Don't underestimate the "timing" of Jobs' announcement. APPL will also announce blowout earnings after the bell today (50% jump in 4th qtr sales) thus mitigating the impact. Minimal to no impact on the long term investment opportunity imo...

Right now Apple trades at around 17 times forecast earnings. If that rating stays about the same, then a market value of $900 billion would have to be supported by net income of about $53 billion.

Would $130 per man, woman, and child on this planet seem like a reasonable future valuation for Apple? Would $8 per year per man, woman, and child on this planet seem like a reasonable expectation for Apple's future profits?

I have no horse in this game. Just sayin'.

At least mine is a "house horse" :) ...point taken though!

widgeon13 01-18-2011 04:32 AM

I don't see Apple going to $1000 per share but also don't see it crashing and burning. Some people are crazy about apple products, it's taken a while to get there and it will take a while to see what Apple will do if Jobs were to be gone permanently. Let's hope that doesn't happen for a while.

+1

I also don't understand why people think that Google needs more market capitalization. ..or couldn't thrive with even a tenth of what they have.

widgeon13 01-18-2011 10:31 AM

Aapl making a nice adjustment considering the circumstances.

enzo1 01-18-2011 12:32 PM

6.43 a share, a dollar above estimates... yea!!!
