Parrot hands free?

I just picked up a new to me Saturn.. It's fairly loaded but no hands free bluetooth. I really am sick of all the ****ty blue tooth head sets etc. I'm looking at a couple of the parrot after market units. Anyone have one ? Are they worth the dollars ?

See if you can test one out. We got one for the wife, not a very expensive one and it was so bad she wouldn't use it.

Can't do that it's an installed unit that works through the stereo..

Porsche-poor 01-24-2011 07:37 AM

that one might work better. we had one of the portable units.

I have one in my Tahoe, works great.....

Where did you get it Mike ? Which model ?

I checked the website, looks like the CK3100. Bought it at least 4 years ago when CA banned to the ear cell phone usage. It works fine. When in low bars areas, it is less connective than the handset.

Uses Bluetooth and your phone needs to support it obviously. Should be a good call as the model has been out a bit. My stereo guy got it for me. Supports four different phones but not ALL at once. It works thru the GM stereo. I used the stand alone ones and they suck. This one works as well as the factory ON STAR.

I installed a stereo that had one built in, in my cabriolet.....engine and wind noise kills it. I needed a new set of tunes anyways and it came with it.....no extra cost.

I bought a parrot once. It was dead when I bought it so I took it back and showed it to the shop. The underemployed, marginally literate salesman on staff first denied it was dead. Eventually I proved to him it was completely dead. After he couldn't deny it was dead any longer he immediately switched to arguing it was my fault. I couldn't have been out of the shop for five minutes before I realized it was dead, so there was no way it was my fault. The guy sold me a dead parrot and he wouldn't take it back. We went back and forth like that for what seemed like hours without him making even the tiniest admission. After a while I questioned whether the guy was right in the head. Still not sure he was. Seemed kind of looney to me. Some of my friends have gotten a laugh about it over the years, but I'm not buying any more parrots ever again. Worst customer service ever.

Can you elborate on that a bit? Don't want to hijack this thread though. One of the things my CTT doesn't have is the BT option. I looked into the "MoBridge" thing but my radio doesn't have the "phone" buttons so it's out of the question.

Does it add some box to the dash or something?

"It's not dead. It's pinin' for the fjords."

1saleaday has a the Parrot Motorcycle hands free on sale for some stupid low price.

Wireless Daily Deal, 1 Sale A Day

Personally don't think the distraction of talking on the phone while riding is healthy. YMMV.

dhoward 01-24-2011 11:09 AM

Personally, the idea of riding a motorcycle is in direct conflict with the telephone. :D
