For you guys that are looking at lots of Snow

Took the boat out this weekend for some E0 gas... - it was a little chilly at around 60 - and 58 degree water - but beautiful on the water.

The water was as clear as I have seen it 10 feet of water and you could see the bottom.

The worst thing I ever heard my dad call anybody was 'prick'. I only heard him use the word in that context once. I now know what he meant.

Jeremy,

Thanks for the bit of sunshine and open water.
Sunday the Annapolis River finally froze over (it is semi-tidal here and mostly salt). Yesterday really put the cap on things with -15C and another 15 of wind chill.
That said, the sun will shine for the next two days, making this place look like a 'winter wonderland'. It ain't much, but it is winter around here. In a couple of months, the maple trees will produce sap and all will be right with the world.

In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine (and the snowbirds).

Les

My kids would gladly exchange the sun for some snow - me - my blood has thinned out - and doubt I would fare well in cold temps again

Nice pics.

Off topic...I'll be in Sarasota in March for 10 days. Any of you guys roadies? Contemplating shipping my bike down and getting away from the family for a couple hrs a day. Is it biker friendly down here or is it a waste of time?

Thanks.

Thanks Jeremy for posting these pics. Now everyone knows why we choose to live in Florida, even with all the nut-jobs we have running loose here!

If you're talking about a bicycle, I damn sure wouldn't get on one here. There may be some dedicated bike trails over around Sarasota that you'd be safe on though. If you bring a motorcycle there are plenty people that ride them here. Charity rides and such all the time. Plenty of "biker bars" for the regular riders (not the Hells Angel types). People just seem to drive crazier here than anywhere else I've been (in the US anyway). I don't want to scare you, just caution you to be aware. It's a great state, with some great people and certainly has a lot to do for entertainment. Enjoy your stay.

The weather is very nice and great for motorcycling (I was there this past weekend), but don't expect any mountain roads or twisties of any kind. Only straightaways and 90 degree intersections. And blue hairs!!!

Depends on the area - Lots of wide open places for a Motorcycle - There are hills and country here also - but you have to head to the middle of the state. (Ocala, Brooksville)

It's only 62 deg. here now, bright and sunny. Should be back into the 70's later in the week. Why did I live on the east coast for so long? I hope to never return.

Pedal bike probably depends more on where you land. If you stay on one of the Islands like Anna Maria - then yes, no problem - flat but lots of areas to ride and explore - If you are inland - then it really depends on the location. But think about it this way - half the population is driving around with poor eyesight and slow reaction times.

Here is my answer to your view with the docks and water.... I get double the fun with boating/swimming/fishing in the summer and skating/ATV ice racing/snowmobiling in the winter.
