My new camera
My wife uses a high tech Canon 20D, a couple years old but still a nice camera. I have been using Sony Cybershot cameras for the last 10 years. The first one lasted five years and started missing a little, so I got the newer model, had that for the last five years and it started missing. I didn't want to pay for the tune up so got the new Sony DSC HX1. I can use my wifes Canon but I always have the wrong lens on and don't care enough to mess with it. These simple digitals really work for me, it has great Macro and Telephoto, plus most the the pictures I take are of cars. Sitting still. The new Sony has a Panorama function. I haven't got it perfected yet, but it's cool, just a shot off the upstairs patio.

I had to re-read. I thought you said your new camera had a Panamera function.

Cool, some (many) of the point and shoot cameras are really amazing little cameras. I'd love to get one, but I have a phone with a camera, and if I was going to spend money on camera gear, it would be for accessories for my main camera.
The panoramic shot is cool. They don't really seem to lend themselves well to digital presentation (unless you've got a big monitor and have the full res shot). I think they are probably better in print or at full resolution on a huge monitor. |
