Shameless self promotion - a client's new Maserati

I've never posted a thread on my company or my cars, but thought you might appreciate a pretty neat car we just helped one of our clients acquire.

It's a 2006 Maserati Quattroporte with 4,030 one-owner miles. The color is Grigio Touring (silver) with Cuoio Sella (saddle) interior. Many nice options including heated/ventilated/massaging seats and some leather-to-sample interior appointments. The engine is essentially the same as the Ferrari F430 and is cast and assembled by Ferrari. Same with the 6 speed paddle-shifted Duo Select transmission which Ferrari calls F1. This one was over $128K new.

We sold it for well under half of that, saving our client over $17,000 from clean retail book. That's a lot of car for the money. The client, by the way, was a referral from a Pelican..... a sincere Thank You!!!

Obscure Joe Walsh reference is not lost on us. Was my favorite song the year it came out.

Does your client still have his license?

That is probably my favorite sedan ever. What are the maintenance costs like? Especially in comparison to a newer 5 series or panamera?

Laneco 01-28-2011 10:59 AM

The interior of that car is absolutely scrumptious!

Ask me in 6 months! He also has a Turbo Cayenne, so I think he can handle it.

Maintenance costs are a little more than a German sedan as parts are expensive. Not Ferrari money, but more than a 5 series. They're known to be robust cars. If you drive them hard, they tend to last a long time. Drive them soft, in traffic, and use the automatic mode and you can wear the clutches in a few thousand miles, at $3000 a pop.

what kind of person buys a car like that and only drives it 4030miles!! very nice car.

VincentVega 01-28-2011 11:38 AM

No kidding.

Here I am thinking it would make a great commuter then I see this

Yes, if you're in stop and go, gentle throttle, and letting the computers shift..... you'll wear 'em in as little as 7K miles. But if you shift yourself with the paddles, treat the gas pedal as on/off, then they'll last 50K+ miles. They really prefer hard, fast shifts.

Seems most Italian cars like it rough.

When the QP launched in 2005 Maserati suggested that the demographic for a QP buyer already owned at least one Ferrari, and three other cars. Also had $700K annual income and avg $10MM+ net worth. Easy to keep it to a couple thousand miles a year when you spread it out over a stable of cars. This one was from Miami and was likely at a second (or third) residence.

Until the Panamera came out those were my favorite sedans, now they are still a very close second.

I personally think they're sexier than the Panamera. They hide their mass better, that's for sure.

I see a couple of these around town, all darker though, that color is very good looking. I see a black one every Saturday morning. It has my drool on it.

Quattroporte sounds SO much cooler than 4-door!

Very nice. Good job!

BeyGon 01-28-2011 01:23 PM

I understand you are helping someone with a Z3 Coup. Any pictures of that one?
