HDMI vs. DMI cable?

I have a new computer running Win 7 connected to my new monitor with the DMI (or is that DVI??) cable that came with the monitor.

I could also use an HDMI cable which I got for cheap.

Is it worth the trouble to hook it up?

Google reveals only some audio enhancements or something ... my monitor has no builtin speakers AFAIK.

Not worth the trouble....

I think HDMI is just DVI plus audio, so it shouldn't make any difference.

If no sound, then there is no difference between HDMI and DVI.
