Exotic cars -- post your top ten list!

With all this talk about exotics.... what do you consider to be the top 10 exotic cars ever made?

Rules are simple - what are, in your opinion, the top ten exotic cars ever produced?

Also - please limit your list to production (non-race) cars only. Cars that were made for homologomation rules (Porsche 962, for example) do not qualify for the list. Kit cars (Nobles, Molsers...etc.) need not apply either.

To keep things consistent, let's use this as a basis for what an exotic car is:

An exotic car must have three elements:
1. Exclusivity - not easily attainable by 'common folk.'
2. Desireability - 'common folk' dream about having one.
3. Longevity - the grandchildren of 'common folk' still dream about having one.

Here's my list (in alphabetical order):

Aston Martin DB4
Bugatti Veyron
Ferrari Enzo
Ferrari F40
Lamborghini Miura SV
Lancia Stratos
Mercedes-Benz 300SL "Gullwing"
Mercedes-McLaren SLR
Porsche 959
Porsche Carrera GT

List up to 10 vehicles only - no more.

So - what's in your list?

-Zoltan.

As far as "Classic exotic" (i.e., if you look up "exotic car" in the dictionary, you'd see this picture):

My rules for an exotic:
1) Did or might have resided on my walls as a young man
2) Appeared on the front cover of a car magazine at one point, WITHOUT the need for a bikini girl.
3) Was outrageously expensive, made old ladies cringe, made women weep
4) Generally looked like a spaceship, with no creature comforts, and no way for your date to step in and out without pulling a Lindsay Lohan.

McLaren F1
Vector
Testarossa (I think more exotic than the F40)
Countach
M1

Currently:
Veyron
Zonda
Enzo
Maserati MC-12
928. Automatic.

you know what they say about the GTO, "of the original 36 made, only 128 remain in existence."

In no particular order:

Ferrari daytona
Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale
Maserati MC-12
Maserati Birdcage Tipo 61
Lamborghini Miura
Lamborghini Murciélago
Cobra daytona coupe
GT-40
Mercedes-Benz 300SL "Gullwing"
Mercedes-McLaren SLR

Some Porshes (904, 918) and jags (C, D type) too but I ran out before hitting 10

Hee hee, back in the day I dreamed of doing the Z-car GTO convert complete with the Chevy V8

To me, the term "exotic" is mostly defined by the car's design. It has to be wild, not subtly beautiful. Although it probably wouldn't be the first car I would buy in its price range, this fits the bill and is just plain awesome inside and out. I'd have to think a bit to put together a top 10 list.

So then, by 'design' you mean 'styling.' . . .the car's styling has to be wild, not subtly beautiful.

You wouldn't happen to be an industrial designer, would ya? --they do that all of the time. (call shape styling 'design')

Design goes much deeper than the first surface. (unless you're a typical industrial designer - then there is nothing beyond the first surface)

I saw one on the 405 freeway many years ago. The driver was wearing a suit and cowboy type hat. I remember the big smile on his face..
