Even with the Nook based system, it's not bad. For surfing, it's fine. I expect that with putting 3.0 on the unit, it will be fine for e-mail and web surfing.

Edit: so is a color nook pretty easy to get onto Android? Then I can use the android marketplace?

Hey! A WSJ article on buying a BN Color Nook and rooting it!
ROI: The $200 Tablet Computer - WSJ.com I have to say, I'm impressed so far. This will definitely be a good e-mail and web surfing machine. The Slate does a lot more. But the $200 Android tablet is good.
