My new 3.6R Flat 6
Ok so its not what you expected but it was time to buy the wife a new grocery getter. Even with the addition of another little one, I was just tired of the big SUV and its crappy gas mileage. We decided to look for a cross over. I looked at several like the Ford Edge and the ugly new Honda and then we stopped and looked at the Outback. I was blown away by how this thing handled, its power and its rabid following. I mean this thing actually feels like it has some soul (I know its a wagon). It took some time to find the color and model I wanted and it was very difficult!! The 3.6 Limited proved very hard to find!! I had no idea how loyal of a following these things have. OK so enough about the new station wagon :). If you are looking for something different, drive one of these.

you take better pics than edmunds.com, like the color...by soul, do you mean it drives good?

Good luck with it. I looked at Outbacks and really liked them, but found out they have a steering problems that shows up on about 30% of the cars and chickened out. Hopefully you're in the 70% majority that has no problem.

Years ago my MIL was shopping for a car and her family was trying to talk her into a SUV. I pointed her to the Outback. I am still a hero for that recommendation. I think it's a '07 - got 80K miles without a single issue. I drove it a few weeks back and it still feels & sounds like a new car. Her only regret was not springing for the turbo...LOL.
