I have been practicing Higgins.

Here was my original day at the range with my new to me Mauser.

As you can tell at 50 yds I was downright awful.

So with lot's of practice I have gotten down to this at 50 yds. First pic is Romanian surplus and the next second one is Turkish. Feeling fairly confident. Still need to make tighter groups.

Higgin's advice to me was "the pointy end of the bullet goes forward"..............right Jeff?

Now now...:p

Excellent work, Tom. Quite an improvement in such a short period of time. Gotta love those old '98's, too.

I have quite a few of the old Mausers. They used to be had pretty cheap and the bullets were cheap too. I still have a few shells I shoot with 1929 dates on them. Corrosive I guess. All mine are original condition so they all kick like a mule with the steel buttplate. A lot of fun to blast away with though.

50 yards with a rifle from a shooting bench should be much tighter.

Practice, practice. I really need to get new contacts. I'll go after I get new contacts. I can't even see the sights if I am looking at the target, and I can't see the target if I am looking at the sights. I am not even sure I am wearing my own contacts. It's pretty bad.
