You're gonna wanna report all attempted paypal fraud to consumertech@ebay.com
Make sure to provide information such as the FULL headers from the email and any useful information contained within. The emails do look very official, sometimes linking to a paypal clone webpage (if you pay close attention, when you put your mouse over the paypal link, the link reads a totally different url). But they ask you things that paypal would never ask.. like SSN and such. Also, paypal will ALWAYS address you by your first and last name, not just "Valued Customer" or something generic like that. I made a warning video about other ways they might try to trick you: <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/u_76mB0Uah0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> The program/video was made by me for demonstration purposes, I am not a scammer. I also made one about programs that trick you into thinking they can hack email accounts: <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EgIu9YaQNas" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> N-joi! =) |
I'll inform ebay too, thanks.
